Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and Challenge App LLC ("we", "us") for The Challenge App. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. That includes using an account we set up for you. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1. What the app is
The Challenge App is a private discipleship app. Churches license it and run programs inside it. Members join a small group, complete daily challenges, read, and talk to each other in a private group chat.
Your church is a program partner. It sets up the program, issues registration codes, organises groups and appoints leaders. It is not the operator of the app and it does not provide these terms. We are, and we do.
2. Who may use it
You must be 13 or older to have an account. If you are under 18, we assume your parent or guardian knows you are here and agrees to these terms. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to register, and we will delete an account if we learn it belongs to someone younger.
You must give accurate information when you register, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. If an administrator set your account up and handed you its first password, change it when you sign in — until you do, the administrator who set it knows it too.
One of our system administrators can also correct the email address on an account, so that mail we send can reach somebody whose address is wrong. Only a system administrator can; church staff cannot, and there is no control in the app that lets you do it yourself. It corrects an address and completes nothing else — it sets no password, uses up no registration code, and signs nobody in by itself. In this release it is the email address only: not your name, not your phone number, not your date of birth. Know what it moves before you ask for it. The code that sets a new password goes to the address on your account, so whoever sets that address can have that code sent to a mailbox they hold, set a password, and then do anything the account can do — including deleting it permanently, because the password is also what confirms a deletion. That is true of any account, including one whose password you chose yourself. Nobody has to prove they can open the new address first, and the change signs nobody out. Our Privacy Policy sets out the rest of what it does.
3. How you get access
There are two ways in:
- Through a church. Your church runs its own registration page. You either pay the church's program fee there — currently $99 — or the church gives you a code. Either way the money is the church's: it is paid to the church, into the church's own payment account, and the church decides its refunds. You pay us nothing, and we never hold that money.
- Set up for you. If you lead a group, one of our system administrators may create your account by hand — entering your details, setting a first password, and giving it to you. You pay us nothing. We do not record any agreement to these terms on your behalf when we do that; using the account is what accepts them, and replacing the password is yours to do.
The iOS app sells nothing. There is no purchase, no subscription and no payment of any kind inside the app, and no way to buy access from it.
Payments and refunds. The program fee is paid to the church on the church's own page and into the church's own payment account, so refunds on it are the church's to give and the church's to refuse — ask your church, not us, and their policy is the one that applies. We never hold that money, so we cannot refund it.
We no longer sell anything. You cannot buy access from us today — not in the app, not on the web. A small number of annual subscriptions bought before we stopped are still running, and they still renew. If yours is one of them, that money is ours and not the church's, so a refund of it is ours to consider and not your church's — write to admin@challengeyourfaith.com.
What we are responsible for is access to the app. If you paid your church and cannot get into the app, that part is ours to fix: write to admin@challengeyourfaith.com. If the email address on your account is wrong — which is often why somebody cannot get in — you will not be able to write from it, so write from an address you can open and tell us what has happened. Stripe's record of the payment keeps the address it was made with, and we do not change it, so it stays a way to find you.
Deleting your account does not refund anything, whenever you paid, and it is not a way to ask for a refund — ask the church first, because deleting the account does not undo the payment.
If you bought a subscription from us on the web in the past, write to admin@challengeyourfaith.com to change or cancel it, and we will do it by hand and confirm when it is done. Do not rely on "Manage subscription" in the app, and do not rely on deleting your account to stop it. We changed payment processors after those subscriptions were sold, so neither route reliably reaches one. Cancelling does not refund the remainder of the period.
4. Acceptable use — and our no-tolerance rule
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or for abusive users on The Challenge App.
You agree not to post, upload or send content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, illegal, that encourages self-harm, that impersonates someone, that exposes another person's private information, or that is spam. You agree not to target or harass any other user. The full list, with examples, is in our Community Standards, which are part of these terms.
Content that violates this rule may be removed, and accounts that post it may be suspended or terminated, at any time, without notice and without refund. By using The Challenge App you agree to this and you agree to abide by these terms.
We review every report we receive and act on it within 24 hours.
You also agree not to try to break, probe or overload the app, not to access another person's account, not to scrape it, and not to use it for anything unlawful.
Remember who else is here: minors as young as 13 use this app. That is why the rules are strict and why we enforce them without argument.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You are responsible for it — for having the right to post it, and for what it says.
By posting, you give us permission to store your content and to show it to the members of the group you posted it in, and to your group's leader, our administrators and church staff we authorise for safety and moderation purposes. That is the whole of the permission: we do not use your content for marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not show it to anyone outside your group unless it has been reported. Our administrators and church staff we authorise can see a reported message even if they are not in your group — the message itself, with its photos, videos and files, while a report on it is open, and the frozen copy the report keeps after that.
Your profile photo reaches further than that. A profile photo is optional. If you add one, you give us permission to store it and to show it to every signed-in member of the app, whether or not they are in your group — except a member you have blocked or who has blocked you. We do not show it to anyone who is not signed in, we do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell it.
You may delete your own messages. Your group leader and our administrators may also delete a message in their group. While a report on a message is open, our administrators and church staff we authorise may delete that message, and its photos, videos and files, in any group. Some system lines — for example a note that someone joined or left a group — are part of the group's record and cannot be deleted.
You may change or remove your profile photo at any time, from the Me tab of the app installed on your phone or tablet — not on the website. The app gives nobody else a control to change or remove it. Removing it, or deleting your account, deletes it from storage. None of this limits what section 4 says may happen to content, or to accounts, that break these terms.
Group chat is private to your group, apart from reported messages as described above, but it is not confidential. Anyone in the group can screenshot what you write.
6. Reporting and enforcement
Every message, and every member in a group roster, has a report control. Reporting is described in the Community Standards, along with how to block someone.
When we get a report we review it within 24 hours and may remove the content, remove the member from the group, suspend the account, or terminate it. We may act on a violation we notice ourselves without waiting for a report. Repeated or serious violations end an account permanently.
Reports are reviewed by the leaders of the group the report was filed in, by our administrators, and by church staff we authorise. Any of them may remove the reported message while the report is open, remove the member from the group and bar them from rejoining it, and resolve the report. Two limits on that. Only an administrator may remove or bar an administrator through those controls: a group leader or a church staff member who tries is refused, including in a group the administrator is a member of, and that is narrower than it used to be. The controls that organise groups are held to the same limit, because taking an administrator out of a group they are in is a removal whatever the control is called: a church staff member who tries to move an administrator out of a group is refused, and a group leader cannot use those controls at all. Placing an administrator into a group removes them from nothing, and whoever organises groups may still do that. And no control in the app lifts a bar once it is written — if a bar needs lifting, email us and we will lift it.
You can also email admin@challengeyourfaith.com about anything a report control does not cover.
7. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Me → Delete Account. What deletion does — including that your church registration seat stays used up — is set out in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you break these terms, if your church's program ends or your access is withdrawn by the church that issued it, or if we are required to by law. We may also stop offering the app; if we do, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
8. Changes
We may change these terms. If we change something that matters, we will update the version at the top of this document and show it to you in the app. Continuing to use The Challenge App after that means you accept the new terms.
9. Disclaimers
The Challenge App is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content in it is accurate or complete. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
The app is a tool for discipleship and group accountability. It is not medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice, and it is not a crisis service. If you or someone in your group is in danger, contact your local emergency number. In the United States you can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
We do not control what other members post. Content in a group chat is the responsibility of the person who posted it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Challenge App LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill, arising from your use of the app.
Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits. Where that is the case, they apply to the extent permitted.
11. Indemnity
You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a third party brings a claim against us because of content you posted or because you broke these terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree that any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and that both of us submit to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Apple
If you use the iOS app, you should know:
- These terms are between you and Challenge App LLC only. Apple is not a party to them.
- Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Challenge App LLC, not Apple, is responsible for any claim that the app or your use of it infringes someone's intellectual property, and for any product liability or legal-compliance claim about the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
14. The rest
These terms, together with the Community Standards and the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the app. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still stands. Our not enforcing something once does not mean we have given it up. You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else.
Effective 25 September 2026.
